 about yumnah

Hi, I'm Yumnah.
Name pronunciation: yuhm-nuh

I'm a late-in-life member of the ADHD club - I didn't receive my diagnosis until my early 30s, after I already had 2 babies and had been step-parenting for years! Growing up, I loved school and did well in it, but not without a lot of hard work. I often misremembered deadlines, forgot my homework in my locker, or my lunch at home. Sound familiar?

I somehow managed to make it through grade school, middle school, high school, college and graduate school without my ADHD being caught. (Thanks, anxiety!) It wasn't until I became a mom of multiples, operating on limited sleep and lots of caffeine, that things began to get really tough.

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, founder and CEO of Sufiyana Counseling Services, PLLC, where I see clients virtually across the state of Texas.

I often share that I'm uniquely surrounded by neurodivergence. My sisters, myself, my husband and my daughter all have ADHD.  I know the challenges ADHD can create for yourself, your family, or your child.

I believe my purpose is to become the fullest expression of myself and to help others do the same, while learning how to corral the internal and external chaos ADHD can create.

For me, discovering my strengths took time, and lots of trial and error. Progress, not perfection, is my motto.
