Do you have questions about how this all works? I've got answers!
It usually takes several sessions to fully reach some of your goals. That said, I understand that everyone has differing finances, time and energy to dedicate to the coaching process.
During our discovery call we’ll discuss your goals and what frequency of services feels like it would be most helpful for you. I ask for a commitment of at least 12 sessions.
Insurance plans do not cover ADHD coaching services
ADHD coaching services with me will center on education, problem solving, building specific strategies, and providing professional peer support. It can also include providing direct support while you complete a specific task in real time.
Therapy, in contrast, has a more extensive scope. It includes processing and resolving past hurts and trauma, processing emotions, and treating any co-occurring concerns that may be present. Therapy can sometimes include goals around executive functioning, though it is not the main focus of therapeutic work.
Further, as a therapist I am limited to provide services to individuals physically located in the state or country I am licensed in. This does not apply to coaching!
Alchemy ADHD Coaching does not provide psychotherapy, nor clinical assessment nor diagnostic services. If it is determined therapy would be a better fit for a client, a recommendation to seek those services will be made.
Some individuals choose to participate in therapy and work with a separate ADHD coach at the same time.
The short answer? It depends. Coaching does not have a set time limit - It varies based on the individual (or family, for parent coaching), and the amount of and types of goals you set.
To get the most out of coaching it’s best to plan to meet for at least a couple months, to be able to initiate new strategies and work on maintaining them.
I offer a choice of purchasing a discounted monthly package of sessions, or paying per session to accommodate your individual needs.
Please note
As a licensed therapist, I am a mandated reporter and am held to the ethical standards that have been set by TX and the American Social Work Board.
This means that while coaching sessions are confidential, I have a legal and ethical obligation to break confidentiality if I become aware of any incidents of abuse or neglect towards a minor, elderly, or disabled person. I am also required to notify authorities if a client is at imminent risk of seriously harming themselves or others. Client safety and protecting vulnerable populations is my highest priority.
